In 2017, the big questions surrounding the catcher position was whether or not Roberto Perez could officially take over from Yan Gomes, who had struggled with injuries and offense over the previous two seasons. But Gomes managed to catch in 105 games, holding off Perez for another season. So, in 2018, the questions really haven't changed from last year.
Can Gomes keep the job he recaptured in 2017? Will Roberto Perez finally take over, thanks to his defensive supremacy? Can the 50-50 tilt, teeter in one direction or another, or will both catchers split the duties again? Oh, and what about Francisco Mejia and Eric Haase, who both will likely find themselves either in Columbus, or Cleveland?
EHC is back with Jim Pete and Mike Hattery discussing the Cleveland Indians positional previews!
