Well, it seems like it's almost officially official. Mark Shapiro is headed to Toronto for lots of money according to multiple reports with multiple sources. The silence was indeed deafening from Mark Shapiro as the Indians start to make a mini-run toward potential playoff relevance.

We break down all the scenarios and wonder how nervous the Dolan family is at the Prospect of replacing Mark Shapiro. Is Chris Antonetti a potential replacement for Shapiro?

Also, we talk about Travis Benjamin and learning just how healthy he is in the Browns pre-season game.

Lastly we talk (lamely) about Cavs excitement. I fully admit it's the most boring "take" ever.

This episode is all about NFL quarterbacks. Yes, they get paid. Yes, they get overpaid. Anymore, it doesn't matter though. Craig Lyndall tells you why it has to be that way.

  • Matt Flynn signed by the Jets and he's made more than $18 million in his career
  • Matt Flynn has started seven professional games in his career
  • Flynn is 3-4 in his career with 2451 total yards 17 TDs and 11 INTs
  • I would have signed Matt Flynn
  • I wrote as much on January 20, 2012 and 134 of you commented on it
  • Eli Manning hopes to become the NFL's highest paid quarterback at more than the $22 million per year that Aaron Rodgers gets paid
  • Is that crazy? Yes, it is kind of.
  • Quarterback has become a light switch of a decision.
  • It's a binary question of whether or not you have a quarterback or not. If you do, then he has to be the highest paid player when his name comes up.
  • The cost of "franchising" eli Manning is $25 million or $3 million more than the richest QB deal. Why?
  • The non-exclusive tag would cost $23.7 million and a quarterback starved team might try and sign
  • Manning in exchange for two first round picks.
  • If I'm the Giants I might actually go for that, but I digress. The Giants are going to pay Manning and they should.
  • I learned this all with Joe Flacco. The question isn't whether Flacco is "elite" although that's a funny thing to talk about because I hate the Ravens.
  • The point is that Flacco is a real franchise quarterback. If you have one, you have to pay him the most when his name comes up.
  • We're talking about the same league that is willing to put nearly $100 million within reach of Andy
  • Dalton's ginger paws. It's not guaranteed, of course, but it's possible.
  • Browns fans should know all too well. You're splitting hairs between Flacco, an aging Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford. Are they franchise quarterbacks? The answer is yes.
  • Giants fans aren't in the clear just yet though. Eli Manning could easily - especially at his age - become Jay Cutler.
  • Jay Cutler might play his way out of the hell hole he found himself in over the past couple years, but it's looking ugly in Chicago.
  • Even in that case though, look in your hearts Browns fans and tell me you wouldn't rather have Jay
  • Cutler and whatever compared to the Cleveland Browns' QB situation.
  • The Browns went after one legged Sam Bradford this year, so I'll hear you say otherwise, but I won't believe it.

The second Browns podcast of the week! We needed to talk more about the Browns. What's really funny is that I completely forgot to discuss one of the major bullets I wanted to hit! I wanted to talk a minute about all the reasons why the Browns shouldn't sign Ray Rice. I'll have to save it for another day though. Just be sure that I'm saying no pretty decidedly.
