It's been a bit since I caught up with Peter Barr, but he's a soccer officionado, so I figured we better check in to discuss the latest USMNT news.
Of course we discussed the decision not to take Landon Donovan.
It's good to talk some World Cup. Can't wait for it to start.
Brian Spaeth was in my house talking into a microphone and I recorded it... poorly. I apologize for the audio quality. It's not great for some reason, but it is very listenable just the same.
We talked about the fact that I haven't seen X-Men yet. We talked about Johnny Football's weekend trip to Vegas. We talked about the Johnny Football nickname too, actually. Finally, we talked about the economy surrounding sports and what the future might hold for it.
Brian Spaeth was on once again to talk about movies. This time we also talked about the Cavaliers and the fact that they won the lottery once again.
Brian saw Million Dollar Arm starring John Hamm. He reviewed that one for me since I didn't see it.
Then we talked about Godzilla and how much money it made in its opening week.
The Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2014 NBA Draft lottery!
So, at the last minute I fired up the old podcast and Andrew and I discussed the Cavs' ridiculously good fortune.
What should they do?
Does this change the thoughts on the Cavs coaching search?
Also, just for fun, we discussed the new album "Boys" by Herzog. Cleveland band on a Cleveland night. Such a great night!
Always fun to talk to @sportsyelling about everything. This time I wanted to help everyone get to know her even that much more before we talked about sports.
So, I asked about movies, music, internet cliches and some other stuff before talking about...
Michael Brantley's walk-off winner
Carlos Santana's struggles
Jason Kipnis' statements about bandwagon fans
I did a solo podcast today breaking down Johnny Manziel's post-practice press conference.
What did he have to say about Loggains' comments about his text messages during the draft.
Were the Browns the only team that Johnny Manziel was texting with during the draft?
Why did Johnny Manziel want to come to Cleveland?
How does Manziel feel about Texas A&M and "The House that Johnny Built?"
I comment on all of that.
The summer movie podcast is in full swing now. Brian and I saw Neighbors starring Zac Efron and Seth Rogen. While there wasn't a heck of a lot to say about it, we both kind of liked it.
We also talked about the Cavaliers removing Mike Brown and how little there really was to say about that either. Somehow we managed to fill up 30+ minutes just the same.
And don't miss it. Brian sang a podcast intro for the WFNY podcast that was simply divine.
I have some interesting friends who embark on interesting pursuits. My friend Joe Petrich of the experimental rock band Something Involving a Monkey stopped by on Tuesday to talk about his band and the local music scene as well as his recent campaign to get the Cleveland Indians to retire Ricky Vaughn's #99 jersey.
We also talked about Wahoo for a bit as Joe is a proponent of keeping Chief Wahoo.
It's always great to have these podcasts with in-person guests and Joe is a fun, knowledgable guy to talk to.
Please consider going to see his band at the Agora on May 25th. It is absolutely FREE if you print out this flyer.
It's been quite a while since I talked to Jon on the podcast, but I asked him to keep tabs on the NFL draft as a passive Browns fan who is married to a real Browns fan.
We ended up talking a lot about draft value, trades, Johnny Football, Josh Gordon's impending suspension and the cultural moment of Michael Sam being drafted.
In addition we talked about the Miami Dolphins' punishment of Don Jones for his two tweets about the Michael Sam kiss on television.
A lot of people asked for it, and I got the fateful text last week that said Scott was ready and had something to say!
In all seriousness, I loved talking to Scott Raab every week and I love talking to him whenever I get the chance to now. With the Johnny Manziel draft pick and the Josh Gordon rumors that cropped up, there was little doubt that he and I would get together on the phone and talk about the Cleveland sports news of the moment.
We also found occasion to talk about the Sin Tax and Chief Wahoo briefly.
2014 NFL DRAFT! The Cleveland Browns are almost on the clock and Rick and Craig are talking about everything. Should the Browns take Johnny Manziel? Should the Browns take the offensive tackle? Should they take Sammy Watkins?
We've got all the talk that you've heard everywhere else, but now with 100% more Rick and Craig!
Cleveland Browns Super Bowl is the NFL draft. Listen now!
We had some trouble getting our schedules to match in the first few weeks, but with the opening of SpiderMan 2, we finally got our act together. It's going to be another busy movie season, so we rocked out four movies in one podcast.
Spiderman 2, Transcendence starring Johnny Depp, Divergent as a Hunger Games ripoff, and finally Draft Day.
It actually worked because there wasn't a whole lot lot lot to say about any of these movies.
I had originally reached out to Will Leitch just before the Olympics and he said he'd gladly come on after them. Time flies in my world and I never got back to him, which is especially stupid on my part. Leitch joined me today and discussed his recent work on Donald Sterling, Leitch Across America, and Chief Wahoo's future.
